Floor Plans and Internal Elevations

When creating internal elevations, it is customary to reference those internal elevations from a floor plan. Typically, you may also which to place a detail plan view onto the same sheet as the internal elevations for a particular space, as this practice makes it easier to understand the relationship between the two. When using callouts to create your reduced-scale plan (eg. 1:50 or 1:20), you must use choose 'Floor Plan' from the type selector. If you don't, you won't be able to see the elevation markers on your detail plan.

In other circumstances where you need a detail view of an area shown in plan view, choose 'Detail View: Detail', then duplicate that type to create a new one. Call that type 'Plan 1-20' (to become Detail View: Plan 1-20) or the like, which will allow better sorting of your views in your project browser.

Note: the top image shows the project browser customised with additional parameters to further sort Detail plans from General Arrangement plans. For more information on customising the organisation of the project browser, search for 'Project Browser' within this Knowledgebase.
